Ellie

Ellie has also done a lot of growing up in the past few months. She is getting taller and has kept up with her cousin Ryker pretty well, it seems like they take turns being taller every time they see each other. She has become quite the chatterbox lately. Some of her favorite things to talk about are sounds animals make and counting, we can only get to 3, but she can point out 8 just about anywhere!! She also loves Disney and it's Princesses. We know quite a few, but currently Snow WHite is at the top of the list.

A few months ago I went through my teaching boxes and found some science books. Ellie latched right on to all the Solar System stuff. She can point out a few planets, knows the sun is really hot, and points out THE MOON every time we step outside!!She is also pretty technology savy and can do more things on the iTOUCH than I can. She loves Paper Toss and Doodle Buddy! IT also comes in handy on long car rides and when we are out to dinner:)

When we went to Disneyland last year my Mom reluctantly bought her a stuffed Lady, well, she has taken Lady on every trip since then and to many stores. They are inseparable and she loves her!! I am just glad that she is easy to wash:)She loves to be outside and enjoys walks and bike rides. She is pretty coordinated on her feet and loves jumping across the floor and having dance parties with her Dad. She is so fearless and isn't scared of heights in the least.
Ellie is growing into a good little helper and is a much better shopping partner than she used to be. She can have quite an attitude for a 2 year old and she definitely needs her sleep, but we will keep her anyway.

Toopie

Since it is still the beginning of the year I thought I would do a little update of both of the kiddos. First up, COOPER!!
He has changed so much since 2010 began, he is now 8 months old. He started crawling on Christmas Day (i guess new toys are a great motivator) and he has never looked back. This month he started pulling himself up onto everything. It only took a few trys to master that concept and he has now started walking around the couch. Last week Brady tried to get him to walk behind the LION, but he couldn't figure it out. WELL, this morning I tried again and to my huge surprise OFF he went. He is slow and wobbly, but that won't last long, I guess his chubby legs must have a little muscle in there!!! Ellie waited til her first b-day to walk, but I don't think Coop can wait that long, i'm thinking 9-10 months!!!
Besides his being so mobile, he has his 2 bottom teeth and he loves using them. He LOVES food and will beg for anything you eat. It doesn't matter what it is, I love that he eats, his sister not so much:(

He is still a snuggler, he loves being rocked, and sleeping in. Ellie hates waiting for him to get up in the morning!! SHe has been to know to sneak in his room and wake him up!! He has a bunch of hair and it's getting lighter and lighter by the day!! How I got 2 little blondies I'll never know, however, that's all of me he got, he is his Daddy's little twin!!

He loves his big sister and Ellie likes having him around too, even though she is a little rough with him. She calls him Toop or Toopie!!

That's about all I can think of for now, hopefully, I can now stay update to date and not have a recap!!

January Has Come and Gone...

January was a pretty slow & rainy month at our house. We loved showing off our new church clothes. Now that we don't have church until 1, this is what happens on the short drive home:(We started going to toddler time at the Library. Ellie loves listening to stories and dancing to the songs.
We made a trip to Vegas to cheer up Ryker and visit Grandma & Papa, while we were there it was a little rainy and Ellie witnessed her first rainbow. It was a full double rainbow and we loved seeing it.
Coop has gotten so big in the last few months, he can finally hold his own with Ellie in the tub!!
Yea!! One bath a day = much happier MOM!!
At the end of the month, Brady's sweet Grandma passed away. Our family loved going to visit the Great Grandparents when we went to Orem. We were always greeted with hugs and their full attention while we were there. She loved watching the kids play, and was always concerned when Ellie would pester the dog, Buddy! We will sure miss her!!

Ringing in the New Year

Our family has been going to Brain Head for New Years for quite awhile, however, now that our host is a Cop, we had to find new plans. So we invited Ryker and Kellie up to our house to ring in the New Year. The kids had so much fun and wore themselves out playing for 3 days.

We played with sparklers on NYEve!! Ryker loved it, Ellie not so much!!We watched UP, a few times!! We saw it for the first time that night and we loved it!! Can't believe there is an Ellie in it too!!

Posed for plenty of pics!!Spent way too much time getting acquainted with iTouches & iPhones!!!We even got a surprise visit from our new engaged Aunt Holly, Dave, & Hailey!!! CONGRATs!!!!

On the Road 1 last time

Christmas afternoon, when the kids were ready for naps, we loaded up the car with the rest of our gifts and headed back down to my parents. The whole family eventually made it over, after visiting relatives and seeing a few movies. The kids opened another gift from Grandma and Ellie finally got to see what Ryker was SO EXCITED to give her. (He told everyone he knew about it, including Ellie, luckily she had no idea what he was talking about.)
A SNOW WHITE TEA SET (sorry no pics)
The two had a little party and Ellie can't wait til New Years to have another one, plus I know what Ryker is getting for his birthday!! Do they make a Thomas the Train one????
My dad also opened his gift, we got 3 boxes with a hammock and two nice chairs for the cabin. The boxes were pretty big and took a bit of wrapping paper. Well, the kids put it to good use and piled it up like leaves and jumped in. They also took turns covering each other up with it!!
The rest of the night we ate and visited until it was time for ALL the tired kids to go to sleep.

Saturday morning we headed out to see Ryker's Christmas, play a little Wii, and go out to eat at our favorite vegas spot, Buffalo Wild Wings:) YUMMY!!

SaNtA CaME

Christmas arrived very early at the Flygare house. For not knowing what to expect Ellie sure woke up bright and early at 5 AM. I tried to get her to go back to sleep, but she wasn't buying it! Here is how our morning went...
this is what Cooper thought of the early morning wake up call
Ellie's first glance at her gifts
(she wasn't to sure they belonged to her)
Brady hid my gifts throughout the house
so I had to go looking for them
Ellie made sure to bring Woody & her Princesses along
Coop diggin his new rings
and then opening of the gifts. Ellie got bored half way through and just wanted to play with her stuff.

Santa Claus is Comin to Town

For the first time since we have been married we spent Christmas Eve at our house. With 2 kids it is just to hard to travel with all their stuff!
The day consisted of Brady working half a day, Ellie and I delivering the rest of our cute neighbor gifts, and afternoon naps for both the kiddos. While the kids were snoozin, Brady and I headed out to the garage to finish up Ellie's Santa gift. We were making her a little kitchen out of an old entertainment center, well when we pulled off some of the painter's tape, half the paint came off with it. Instead of trying to fix it poorly, Brady made an executive decision to scrap the idea and head to Wal-Mart Christmas eve:( He ended up with a little kitchen (the last one) that will be fine until we can resand the old one and give it to her later. It was then time to get ready for Christmas dinner, we invited over our friends the Brinkerfoff's. Ellie was so excited to see the girls. They didn't eat much, but they sure had fun running wild around the couch and checking to see where Santa was with Brady. We then hung out and took a few family pics around the tree.
After the Brinkerhoff's left we opened our Christmas eve presents, which included SURPRISE pajamas.

The whole family then climbed into bed to watch the animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas (that Brady so kindly picked up at Wl-Mart that day). Cooper was a party pooper and fell asleep in the middle, then it was off to bed for Ellie, so Santa's little elves could get busy putting together a kitchen!!

We sure missed our families, but it was nice to start a few traditions of our own! Maybe next year we will have a few visitors come and stay with us:)
