Flashback Friday - The Original McHottie

After reading so many of your flashbacks I have decided to start Flashback Fridays too! 2 summers ago my sister in law Tami wanted to go to the Faith Hill/Tim McGraw concert, so Saturday morning I sat at the computer and waited for ticket master to open and ended up getting some tickets for Myself, Brady, and his 2 sisters. Well we had no idea how great our tickets were til we got to the Delta Center and kept walking down and ended up being 7 seats away from the stage. It was awesome!! Probably one of the closets tickets I have had, except for in standing room only. Well the concert was fabulous and we even touched their hands and posed for a pic with Faith's keyboard player. As well as getting some great photos!!

1st Baptism!!

Brady's nephew Zach is currently on a mission in North Carolina. He has only been in the mission field since January. We get weekly emails from him each Monday, which is alot considering he wasn't a faithful writer in the MTC. In today's letter we learned that he just had his first baptism on Saturday. YEAH!!!!! We are so excited for him.

Almost a Mover

Here are some pics of Ellie's attempts at crawling. She is so close and by weeks end I am hoping to have a baby in motion. It is so funny to watch her get up on her knees and then she starts hopping to move herself forward. Her poor little knees have some rugburn though, after just a few minutes of this. I guess she will have to put back on her pants before the next practice session.

Weekend Getaway

Last week Brady's sister, Holly, called and told us she wanted to come visit, but she wanted Brady and I to leave. She wanted Ellie all to herself, we couldn't refuse so Brady and I went to Zion Mountain Resort on Saturday night. When we went to check in we noticed the restaurant was closed from 5 to 7 for a private party. Well when we went over at 7 to eat and the food was not to impressive and super expensive, needless to say we were still starving. I knew Mt. Carmel had great pie so we went there and arrived 5 minutes to late so still hungry we drove another 15 miles to Kanab. We ate at Big Al's and spent $10 for the best meal ever. The one draw back was the drive back, it was a little long, and dark! I would recommend the little cabin rentals, they were great, but stay away from the food. Sunday morning we got up and drove back into Zion to take a few pics and then headed back to reality.

Ellie had a great time with her Aunt Holly and cousin Hailey. I think they might have spoiled her just a bit. They went shopping and got Ellie the softest and cutest pink bear that sings "You are My Sunshine" built just for her, and a new little outfit that matches her bear perfectly. She loves the bear and sucks on the ears as much as her mother will let her. We are still however trying to think of a name. Ellie loved hanging out with her Aunt Holly and cousin Hailey!

Donut Dinner

So I hate to admit it, but I am still addicted to many MTV Reality shows including Rob & Big. If you have never seen this show you are surely missing out, so, I will feel you in on some details. It is about a professional skateboarder and his 400 pound bodyguard Big Black. A few weeks ago on the show they got this idea to break some Guinness World Records. Rob was breaking skating records and Big some eating records. Which brings me to our donut dinner. On the show one of the records was to eat 4 powdered donuts in 2 minutes or something. Ever since then I have wanted powered donuts, so last night we stopped at Maverick and bought a box and took them home to have a "Powdered Donut Diner". Ellie even joined in the fun, with the help of her Dad smearing powder all over her face.

Valentine's Surprise

Ellie and I came back on Valentines day from Vegas and all Brady told us was that we had to be home by 2:00. When we got home our house was so sparkling clean. Brady had cleaned the house from top to bottom, including the blinds and the baseboards (things that I never really get to)! It looked fantastic. Then our surprise came around 3:00. The Snow Canyon choir were doing singing telegrams to raise money and a small group of choir members came and sang for Ellie and I. Ellie loved it and was quite mesmerized by the performance. I thought that it was quite a thoughtful gift and I enjoyed the singing as well.

Cowgirl Ellie

Every month Ellie and I go to Vegas to play Bunko with my family. We usually stay a few days with my parents and Ellie loves to visit her cousins as well. While we were there her Grandpa dressed her up in his western duds and Ellie rode the saddle thats in his office. Ellie loved it and was having quite a good time. However, she is not a fan of sharing this new toy!

Sunday Nap

Last Sunday was our stake conference and Ellie usually takes a nap around 10:00, well i was feeding her at 9 and she fell asleep. She is just too cute that I had to post these pics of her before and during her nap!

Surprising Super Bowl

Well it was that time of year again, SuperBowl Sunday! The day you watch a football game cheering for teams that you normally wouldn't just to watch million dollar commercials. AS the game started I found out Brady was cheering for the opposite team. So we decided to place a friendly bet on the game, the loser had to make it to the gym 6 days a week for the entire month of February and plan Valentines Day. The game was pretty boring in the middle and I thought that i was going to be sweating it out at Summit every morning. But, after a few amazing 3rd downs and Tom Brady losing his cool the Giants pulled off the greatest upset and helped me to clinch the victory.

Plus, I may have the fittest husband around come March 1st.
