Christmas Cookies!!

It is not Christmas time with the Haycock family until we have made at least a few batches of sugar cookies. SO tonight we took on the task of making the first batch of sugar cookies with a few of the grandchildren. It was quite a mess and their were a few sugar highs. Shae and Wilbur helped pick out the cutters and we ended up only cutting a hand off 1 gingerbread man. Then Grandma, Shae, Will, and I frosted what seemed like a million cookies. Will was a very good sprinkler, once we got the hang of the shaker and Shae got rather creative on the frosting side. Grandpa even frosted a few, which hardly ever happens. Grandma only let one batch of cookies get a little bit too burnt!

Ellie's Eating

I thought that these pics were great so I decided to blog about it. For the past month or so Ellie has started eating some cereal and carrots. Well I don't know if you could call it eating, most of the food ends up in her hands, hair, face, and well everywhere but her mouth. After this long I thought she would improve but that is not the case. After managing a bite of carrots into her mouth she licks her lips and shudders so badly. The rest of the time Brady and I are trying to be so entertaining that Ellie will look up and we can spoon some in, this only works about half the time. The rest of the time she would rather stare at her feet. If this wasn't about eating it would be easy to give up!!

Crafty Christmas

For Christmas this year I decided to make a few handmade gifts,my sister was going to make her son a rag quilt and I decided if she could make one so could I. So with little sewing knowledge I bought material and started in on Ellie's quilt. I finished it the other day and it looks pretty good for my first try. There are a few little mistakes, but you can't really see them and I hope that Ellie really ends up liking it. Now that I have tackled one quilt I already have plans for making a few more for baby shower gifts.
